To block road traffic vibrations, we installed vibration isolation on the underground exterior walls! We achieved good results.

In an old building facing a road with heavy traffic from large vehicles, vertical vibrations were perceived on the upper floors. An investigation into ground vibrations revealed that the vibration levels increase when large vehicles pass by. In the new building, vibration isolation measures were implemented by installing vibration dampers on the underground exterior walls to block road traffic vibrations. [Case Study] Measures Against Subway Vibration for High-End Condominiums in Daikanyama

This is a case where there was no audible sound from the subway's operation and no perceptible vibrations, resulting in excellent outcomes!

Due to the underground tunnel of the Tokyu Toyoko Line being located near the condominium, there were concerns about the impact of train vibrations from the Toyoko Line. The condominium is planned to have living spaces on the B1 floor and trunk rooms on the B2 floor, and measures against solid sound from vibrations were considered. Before construction, ground vibration surveys were conducted, and based on that data, the vibration and noise environment for the B1 living spaces was predicted, leading to plans for the installation of vibration-damping materials on the underground outer walls. To confirm the vibration insulation performance of the vibration-damping material Vibra, vibration and noise verification measurements were conducted, and it was found that there was no audible solid sound from the subway, and no perceptible vibrations were detected, resulting in excellent outcomes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
